北方初寒，旅顺小渔村的鸳鸯湖也结了冰。而在大洋彼岸的佛罗里达，天气温和，天空晴朗，有人在异国的日日夜夜牵挂着这里。本期，“英院人在海外”重磅回归，英院学子柳宗伯将把迪士尼的点点滴滴娓娓道来。

迪士尼动画几乎承载了每个人童年的幻想和期冀，迪士尼主题乐园更成了纯真与美好的代名词。想象一下，如果你是那宏大乐园中的组成部分之一，白天看尽浪漫童话，夜晚享受璀璨烟花，该是怎样一种幸福？

今天，就跟随大柳，一起走进“迪士尼国际大学生项目”，看遍他眼中的迪士尼世界吧！

As a Disney College Program participant, being part of the magic that is known worldwide, you will gain valuable, on-the-job experience working in Disney parks and resorts, participate in college coursework, and have the opportunity to meet and live with people from all over the world. This truly unique five-month program allows participants to network with leaders, take part in personal and career development classes, and build transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, guest service and effective communication.

在项目前十天，我们被安排在纽约进行文化体验。在这里我亲眼见到了梦寐以求的自由女神像，联合国大厦，时代广场，华尔街等著名景点，一饱眼福。之后飞往奥兰多，正式开启迪士尼梦幻之旅~~

Briefly, the corporate culture of Disney is FOUR KEYS: safety, courtesy, show and efficiency.

Safety is priority.一切从客人与员工的安全出发，大到安检、设备更新，小到推车摆放、餐具摆放都有规定和要求。在安全的基础之上，给予客人尊重、帮助与包容。用积极的服务态度和良好的精神面貌，展示迪士尼健康正面的企业形象，并将其带入show中，让客人眼前一亮。效率放在最后并非说它不重要，而是在前三项落实的基础上，提高效率才有意义、有价值。

我的工作

As a college internship program, internship plays a crucial role and all of us are assigned with 2 positions during the program. My first job was Food & Beverage in a restaurant of Disney Animal Kingdom.

My working area is mainly divided into 5 parts according to job requirements: register, front desk, hotline, washing room and dining pavilion. No matter which area you’re in or what assignments you have, safety is our priority. Make sure to wash hands and wear disposable gloves before you touch food while use sanitizer after usage.

我的工作中最累的两个任务分别是bussing和frier。Bussing就在客人的用餐区清理桌面、摆放桌椅、收集餐盘、清理垃圾桶和垃圾车等工作的总称。因为我工作的餐厅有7个用餐区，二十多个垃圾桶，几十张桌子，当忙完一圈之后又不得不面对爆满的垃圾桶时，内心真是无助又绝望。

Frier主要负责炸薯条、炸洋葱圈。最开始真的特别喜欢这个任务，但因为较高的油温，几分钟就会满头是汗、满脸油光。常常一干就是两小时，直到现在，我还对薯条有心理阴影……最煎熬的是清洗油炸机。将近200摄氏度的油要先过滤，然后用水枪冲刷油炸机内部、消毒、再倒入新油。整个过程一不小心就会被烫伤。

Raw to the work, I was discouraged by a series of menial and busy assignments. But nothing is impossible to a willing heart. I started to summarize my work and ask other cast members for valuable working experience every day. Gradually, I found my work capacity was enhanced and self-confidence was greatly boosted, which made me motivated and more energetic.

从第一次关frier一团糟、不得不求人帮忙，到后来可以一个人关闭frier且均符合检查标准，两个多月的工作让我看到了自己的成长，也给了我更多自信。也让我明白，工作知识越完备，人越从容；反之，则会捉襟见肘。

第一份工作锻炼了我的毅力，而第二份工作——销售则提升了人际交流能力。Anyway，每天都有提高，每天都在进步，而且能看到一点一滴的成长，这种感觉真的很棒！

在这里分享三个工作中遇到的小故事。

第一个故事关于我自己。一次是把餐厅所有有顽渍的桌子都处理干净；第二次是餐厅工作的最后一周，利用身高优势（学长1米92）把厨房墙壁的高处统统擦了一遍，也算是尽自己的一份力。我从没想过会得奖励，结果leader分别奖励了我两张recognition cards。这些其实都是我的本职工作，只是，你比别人认真、多思考又多做了一些，你的收获就要比别人更丰富。

One evening, a young girl was innocently hit by an angry lady with the stroller on purpose when they queued up for entering River of Light Show. The girl was cursed into tears and came to us for relief and help. Bruises apparently appeared on her leg and the tears ruined her make-up. My leader had been trying to relieve her with words and hugs. When she was relatively balanced, my leader gave her a fastpass for the Everest Roller Coaster and accompanied her to the VIP seats of the River of Light Show. Such a surprise made her burst into tears and thanked us again and again with joy and appreciation.

有一天，一位焦急的男士跑来找我和leader求助。他本来和女儿一起排队买东西，结果付完钱发现女儿不见了，实在找不到才请求我们帮忙。经过园区安保部门努力查找，终于找到了女儿。见到女儿的一瞬间，前一秒还焦急万分的他，脸上突然挂满泪痕，紧紧抱住女儿，似乎一刻都不愿和女儿分开；小女孩则用哭到沙哑的声音不停地叫Daddy Daddy。在场的人都红了眼眶。

正是这些点点汇成了我的迪士尼经历。这些暖心又难忘的瞬间是我来这的原因，也正是它们赋予了我工作的意义。

学习篇

由于该项目以学术交流为背景，所以上课、学习也必然成为该项目的一部分。

My class in Disney is Advanced Studies in Hospitality Management. It is an advanced-level course that covers complex issues facing Hospitality leaders today. This course will prepare students to become entry-level managers in the Hospitality industry by exposing them to contemporary operational issues and situations, equipping them with various problem solving methods and teaching them to develop and implement strategic solutions. Topics covered include guest service, leadership, strategic planning, trends and technology, communication, marketing, human resource management, and crisis management. Class content is delivered through lectures, group discussion, learning activities, and case studies.

感想

Throughout the class, not only can I obtain the writing techniques for business plan, but also acquire skills for setting up a website. Most importantly, great things may be done by mass effort, which makes me deeply realize the importance of team-work via constant interaction and negotiations with team members.

通过这门课程，我收获了经营商业的基本知识，明白了企业对顾客态度的重要性；小组讨论时能发现他人的闪光点，获得了更多有创意的idea，思路也得到了相应拓展，并收获了珍贵的友谊。

生活篇

作为北方人，夏天刚来到亚热带湿润气候的Florida还有些不适应。但随着秋天的到来，这儿的气候简直不要太宜人！

Then, language barrier is melting. Even though I’m an English major, I still get confused at first when people are talking really fast. Different from VOA and BBC, I have got to confront various accents from across the globe every day. Immersed in an English-speaking environment, it’s beneficial for me to keep up with different speeds, accents, pronunciation and intonations，which promotes interaction with other people and my understanding of American culture.

此外，我的自理能力得到了很大的提高。身在国外，一切都要靠自己。如何分配自己的工资，如何管理好个人时间，如何平衡工作、学习和生活……这些都在让我成长并成熟。

个人感悟

I used to be easily offended when the gustes didn’t respect my labor and efforts while I choose to remain calm and good-tempered at present. And I enjoy my work as a cast member instead of being ashamed of my work as a server any more. The reasons are clear: I've got diverse assignments to accomplish, different people to interact with, various magic moments to create, and massive fun to enjoy. I'm paid for it and I'm worth it.

In a larger sense

迪士尼让我明白了挣钱的不易，理解了父母挣钱的辛苦，也让我学会了珍惜自己拥有的一切。此外，迪士尼还给予了我夯实语言基础的环境；深入体验美国文化的机会；自我管理和人际交流能力的提升；更宽阔的视野与平台，让我遇见了更好的自己。

Yes, to be a better man!

多年之后，当我再次回首这段异国时光，我依然会自豪地说：I worked in Disney, I LOVE it, and I'm proud of it! That's it!

自此，本次迪士尼之旅也就接近尾声了。看过了以上的所有，相信大家也和小编一样，对海外留学、实习，或者说，对更大更未知的世界充满期待和探索的愿望。

先人曾说“纸上得来终觉浅，须知此事要躬行”，也曾说“读万卷书，行万里路”，读书和行知，永远是认识世界最重要的两个方式。在“世界这么大，我想去看看”已经被用过千万次的今天，人们似乎失去了最初听到这句话的激动和热忱。但我始终相信，还有千千万万人在认真生活，努力接触新事物和新思维，在认识世界的路上同时重塑自己。
